We spent all of our childhood summers with our family in our ancestral home in the Himalayas. This is where we learned how to holistically nourish our hair by harnessing the powers of the herbs, oils, and flowers indigenous to the Indian subcontinent. These rituals and formulas are rooted in Ayurveda, the world's oldest healing system, and passed down by generations of women.

We have taken these ancient Indian rituals and are now reimagining them for all.

We focus on responsible production from the very beginning of our supply chain, starting with the people who grow our ingredients and continuously work on how we can lessen our footprint on the planet.

Sourcing Ingredients

We source most of our raw ingredients from Indian suppliers and small, sustainable farms. This allows us to support traditional communities that have kept these practices alive for generations. Our goal is to continue to establish more direct farm partners as our sourcing suppliers.

Packaging Footprint

In partnerships with CleanHub and Green Worms Waste Management, we are a plastic-neutral company. Every S&K purchase helps support Green Worms collect the household waste in more than 50 municipalities across South India, and at the same time provide income to more than 300 people. Our shipper boxes and inserts are all 100% recyclable.

Ethical Production

We are on a continuous journey to make sure we are creating quality products that don't have a heavy footprint. Most of our ingredients are drought-resistant and easy to harvest — this is beneficial both of protecting our planet and people. We use plant ingredients that are gentle to grow on our planet, reliable for farmers, and nutritious for your hair.
